    What Is Mac Address?

Do you have any idea about Mac address? Many may reply, "no". Let us know some information about this

    What is a mac address?

The entire English form of Mac address is either Media Access Control Address or MAC Address. A computer's Mac address is a special identity for the network device used on that computer, which primarily provides its physical identity to the computer. This is the unique ID of each network interface. Each of the network interfaces is identified separately through mac address. The Mac address of a device is usually provided by its builders. The makers company creates a Mac address according to their company's ID, code encoding etc.

There is a separate Mac address for each network device. Number of different devices around the world, since unlimited number of Mac addresses are 12-digit hexadecimal numbers and they are composed in pairs by colon separately. For example, xx: xx: xx: xx: xx: xx (x will contain mac address in the written part). In 6 parts this is written as 12 hexadecimal. It is written with two digits and then a colon.
    MAC Address Extension:

Generally, some devices have a mac address in the manual. Again, some of the devices have Mac addresses with serial backwards.
However, we can learn the Mac address of the device connected to the computer in another way. But, it's different for different operating systems.
    Windows 7:

    • In the Search box of Start Search and Files, enter "Network and Sharing Center"
    • Click the desired result now.
    • Now select Change Adapter Settings from left side.
    • Press the right mouse button on the connection you want to extract from the connection and go to Properties.
You can see the device's Mac address by putting the mouse in the text box below the Connect Use.

    Windows XP:

    • Click on the Start button first.
    • Then go to Control Panel> Classic View-> Network Connections.
    • Press the right mouse button on the connection you want to extract from the connection and go to Properties.
    • If you put the mouse in the text box at the bottom of Connect Use, you will see that device's mac address.
    Linux:

    • Enter the privileged terminal session for linux ifconfig.
    • Through this command, you can see what network devices are installed on your computer.
    • Usually here the HWaddr named MAC address is referenced.
    Windows Vista:

    • In the Search box of Start Search and Files, enter "Network and Sharing Center"
    • Select Manage Network Connections option from the left side.
    • Press the right mouse button on the connection you want to extract from the connection and go to Properties.
You can see the device's Mac address by putting the mouse in the text box below the Connect Use.

However, the matter is that if you use Grameenphone / Banglalink or Citycell modem then these methods may not work. But then use this method,

    • First you have a net connection to your modem.
    • Start> Run
    • In the Run box, type cmd and press enter.
    • Type the command window open here, ipconfig / all.
    • You will then see a lot of information.
    • Find out where Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection is available.
    • Now here's the Syriar combination of 12 digits and letters in front of the Physical Address, which is actually your mac address.
What is the need of mac address?

Network communication with device is primarily through Mac address. It can be used as network protocol and can also be used to break the protocol. Sometimes it is almost mandatory to change the mac address for hacking or doing illegal activities online. In many networks, the Mac address filter is used as a security protocol. As a result, only those devices can be connected to that network, the Mac address of all the devices is in the filter list of that network. There are many internet service providers, who provide Internet connection based on the mac address.

    Can Mac Address Change?
As we already know, a device's Mac address usually provides its build-up services. The makers company creates a Mac address according to their company's ID, code encoding etc. So, some of the Mac's addresses can not be changed. However, it does not work. As soon as the computer restarts it again gets its previous MAC address. But sometimes it is necessary to change the mac address due to various unnecessary reasons. Because hackers spread the traffic by spoofing another's mac address for DOS attack. So we need to change the mac address. And changing this address is called 'mac spoofing'. 3. Then go to Manage Network Connections or Change Adapter Settings.
    4. Go to the properties of Active Connection.
    5. Follow the options above 5 to 9.

To see if the address has changed, please work according to the options given in the previous "MAC Address Rules".

What is the difference between IP address and mac address?

IP address is the address of a computer, whereby others can recognize a particular computer. It is also comparable to phone numbers. However, this IP address can not be changed. And Mac address is a unique identifier for a network device. Mac address is basically in hexadecimal format. By the first half of the Mac address, the device is a model and the other part of the brand is the unique number. It can be compared to mobile I, M, I, E number or Car V, I, N numbers.
