What Is OCR?
Think, you are examining the test. You have not come in common. So, trying to see the friend sitting beside him. But, his writing is so bad that you can not understand anything! Many times it is such that after writing too fast, the writing of your hand can not be understood later. I think it is! If you were not typing on the computer and typing on the test, how good it would be!
Come on, in the original words. Do you know how the computer identifies our written commands? This happens through a software called OCR. Let's do this And know about the details.
What is OCR?
OCR is a short form of Optical Character Recognition. This is called optical character reader. It is widely used as a form of data entry from printed paper data records, used for passport documents, invoices, bank statements, computerized receipts, business cards, mails, static-data prints, or any suitable documentation.
Initially this product was used to create reading devices for telegraph-related technologies and blind people. In 1914, Emmanuel Goldberg created a machine that could read letters and convert their standard telegraph code.
Simultaneously, Edmund Furnia de Albay, created a handheld scanner called the OptoPhone. When it is moved across a printed page, it creates tones attached to a particular letter or letter.
In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Emanuel Goldberg used an optical code recognition system to detect microfilm archives and called it a "statistical machine".
With the advent of smart phones and smartglasses, the OCR could be used in Internet-connected mobile device applications, which extracted the written characters using the device's camera. With the advent of smart phones and smartglasses, the OCR could be used in Internet-connected mobile device applications, which extracted the written characters using the device's camera. These devices do not have OCR functionality built into the operating system, typically using an OCR API, the image is extracted and provided by the device.
In the 2000s, OCR was opened online in a mobile computing environment, and in mobile applications such as real-time translation of foreign language signals in a smartphone. There are various commercial and open source OCR systems available for most general writing techniques, including Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Indic, Bengali, Devanagari, Tamil, Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters.
In real sense, easy to see, O, C, and other computer programs or software, which can automatically analyze a printed text or handwriting and take it to a form that the computer can easily understand. Even if you have a handwriting keyboard on your cell phone, also work with the OCR system, let's know about how it works:
How does OCR work?
OCR is a special process that allows us to convert text based images into an editable electronic document. These images can be produced by scanners, cameras, read only files, etc. O, C, and software take various steps to convert an image file into an editable document. Each step in this process uses a specific algorithm to modify, enhance and interpret images found in a file.
But basically, there are two main methods of working for it. One is to recognize each letter in its potential pattern (pattern recognition) and another is to recognize each letter in each letter, remembering that character with every fine line (feature detection). More about this is discussed below,
Pattern or Character Recognition:
Matrix matched a comparison file, based on the pixel-by-pixel saved at a glyph. It is correctly disconnected from the rest of the film based on input glyph and stored on the same scale in the same safe spacing. This strategy works well with typewritten text and does not work well when newer fonts are available. This method is primarily implemented in the primary focal-based OCR, but rather directly. It's basically a, c, and its primary function.
In the 1960s, a special phone was promoted for writing blank checks, named "OCR-A". Each chac was originally used to use the same font, so the optical character recognition or OSR could easily understand the font. However, different fonts are now used for different purposes. Pattern Recognition System is trained in many cases labeled "Training" data. But when any labeled information is not available, other algorithms can be used to previously detect unknown designs (non-selected learning). The main function of this pattern recognition system is to specially train the OCR program to identify each letter, so use the program number to identify any character. The program of popular fonts remembers the number of numbers in the program, and when scanning, those numbers decode and try to recognize the characters. There is no guarantee that 100 percent of the characters in your system can be recognized. But in most cases it works.
Feature Detection:
Feature detection is called Intelligent Character Recognition or ICR. This is the most intelligent way to identify a character. The concept of identifying features in computer vision and image processing refers to methods that allow for the release of image data and to determine local decisions in each decision that there is a specific feature of any particular image. As a result, the feature will be subscribed to the image domain, often in the form of isolated points, continuous curves or connected areas.
Let's think, many different types of characters are put in front of a computer. Where different letters are written using different fonts. However, how will this characterize the computer? In this case, there are fancy ways to make this work easy. When it sees two curved lines and sees that another line is connected to the two lines at the top, and the bending line is in tandem with two halves and another line is leveled together at the top or middle, it can easily be understood that this character is "A". Or, there are two rounds of circles with two halves, and it can be understood that it is "B".
However, it is to be noted that using this method usually identifies uppercase
letters, it can not be said that the letter is written using any font. Without
thinking of a complete pattern of a character directly, each line of that axis
is possible to recognize any subtle lines and their position, even if it is
easy to recognize. Most modern OCR programs use feature detection methods more
than pattern recognition methods. Some programs work using neural networks.
Neural Network is a method where computer programs can work automatically as a
human brain.
How does the Hand Writing Recognition work?
Hand Writing Recognition is the ability of a computer to interpret handwritten input from sources from paper documents, photos, touch screens, and other devices. Written text may be felt by "opt-off" from a piece of paper by image optical scanning (optical character recognition) or intelligent sound recognition.
Handwriting Recognition is basically the C, and its inevitable results. However, a complete handwriting recognition system handles the formatting, performs the correct segmentation between the characters and finds the most reasonable sound.

When we write something on the tablet computer or smartphone's handwriting
keyboard, it is much easier to identify it to the computer. For example, you
pull a scarf, then pull another scar on the head of the stain. In this case,
the device can easily understand that it is "T". Here, the computer
is able to understand how a line was drawn and after drawing it would appear in
the letter "T". The computer uses feature detection methods. But it
is not so easy to recognize any Abrothbro handwriting on any paper. To write a
handwriting to a computer, you have to write only after following a specific
rule, and the rules of this writing are called combs fields. It's hard enough
for the computer.
